ALAIN starts construction of Rove Home Meydan Horizon in Dubai: 190 furnished residences in a 19-storey building, handover scheduled for the first quarter of 2029

ALAIN, an Abu Dhabi-based diversified investment group, has started construction of Rove Home Meydan Horizon in Dubai after a groundbreaking ceremony, the Emirates News Agency WAM reported on 13 October 2026. The 19-storey building in the Meydan Horizon district of Mohammed bin Rashid City will have 190 fully furnished residences, and its handover is scheduled for the first quarter of 2029. It is the first residential project between ALAIN and Rove Hotels. This is a construction start, not a new launch: sales opened in November 2025.

What WAM reported

On 13 October 2026, WAM reported from Abu Dhabi that ALAIN has commenced construction on Rove Home Meydan Horizon following a groundbreaking ceremony. The development will comprise 190 fully furnished residences and is scheduled for handover in the first quarter of 2029. It is the first residential collaboration between ALAIN and Rove Hotels. The 19-storey building is in the Meydan Horizon district of Mohammed bin Rashid City, near a two-kilometre lagoon, with smart layouts, modern finishes, Rove-inspired interiors and hospitality-style amenities. Khaled Al-Khoori, Managing Director of ALAIN, said the project "marks ALAIN's third groundbreaking this year". Paul Bridger, Head of Rove Hotels, said it is designed to offer "more than just a place to live".

The project since its launch

Arabian Business reported the launch on 27 November 2025: 190 one- and two-bedroom fully furnished apartments, with co-working lounges, a Rove Café, a swimming pool, a gym, a jogging track, a yoga studio and an outdoor cinema among the amenities. Sales started that month, with OCTA as the project's master broker. The same report describes ALAIN as a group founded in 1996 and active in capital investments, real estate, hospitality and education, and Rove as a Dubai brand formed as a joint venture between Dubai Holding and Emaar Properties, with more than 8,000 hotel keys open or under development.

What the reports do not say

Neither WAM nor the launch report gives prices, a payment plan, service charges, the contractor or how many of the 190 residences have been sold. The handover date is described as scheduled, not as guaranteed. Some broker websites quote a different number of floors and asking prices; we have not used them, because they are not official sources. We will update this story if ALAIN or Dubai Land Department publish more details.

Why it mattersOur view for a Kuwaiti buyer. A groundbreaking is the moment an off-plan promise becomes a building site, and it is worth more to a buyer than a launch party. Three points. First, the timetable: sales opened in November 2025, construction started in October 2026 and handover is scheduled for the first quarter of 2029, so a buyer who reserved at launch waits a little over three years from booking to keys; a buyer reserving now waits a little over two years. A scheduled date is the developer's plan, not a guarantee, so read the delay clause in the sale contract. Second, in Dubai the money you pay on an off-plan home should go into the project's escrow account and be released to the developer as construction advances; with work now started, ask for the project's registration and escrow account details from Dubai Land Department before paying, as our escrow guide linked below explains. Third, branded and furnished flats are usually priced for renting out, so ask for the service charge per square foot and any hotel-style rental arrangement in writing; neither report gives a price, a service charge or a rental figure.

What Al Mithaq adds

Al Mithaq does not represent ALAIN or this project; we report it because it shows a Dubai off-plan building moving from sales to construction. In Dubai we represent Emaar's communities, including Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Hills Estate, and the same escrow and handover questions apply to them. Our project page lists those communities with prices on request, and our team in Kuwait can check a project's Dubai Land Department registration and construction stage for you before you reserve.
