The first full-distance IRONMAN in the Middle East: a 3.8 km sea swim off Qurum Beach, a 180 km ride from Qurum through Muttrah to Barka and back, and a flat marathon through the capital. Muscat already hosts a 70.3 race each February and will stage the 70.3 World Championship in 2029.

Royal Opera House Muscat brings back its own production, the Arabic-language opera that opened its 2025 season and was then staged at Müpa Budapest. Music is by Hisham Gabr with a libretto by Nader Salah El Din, directed by Csaba Káel, with Arab singers, the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and an Oriental Ensemble. Sets and costumes draw on Oman's traditional dress, sea-faring history and landscapes.
